When I tried to return to work after a 2.5-year career pause, I was told I needed to 'get my foot back in the door'—despite having 8+ years of experience. I sent hundreds of applications, conducted countless coffee chats, and even applied through referrals. Still - radio silence.
As a mother wanting both career fulfillment and time with my newborn, I faced the impossible 'either/or' choice and quickly discovered the myth of 'having it all.' Through many connection calls and finding a mother-boss who saw my experiences and believed in the value of a career pause, I landed at an organization that valued me. That experience taught me that the right opportunities DO exist - and with some guidance and support, I can land at the right place.
